Nyumba ya Madau

Nyumba ya Madau was built ten years ago by mama Melina, who fell in love with the bay when it was still unexploited and wild. She designed her dream house in that corner of paradise she wanted to share with family and friends. She collected pieces of wood from the beach and furniture and doors from old houses to maintain the local charm.

 

The house, over the years, has been filled with objects gathered by the family in their numerous travels around East Africa and the many visitors who passed by. The rich library with photographic books on flowers, animals, design and many novels represent the interests of a life time and they are there to make your stay in the house more pleasant.

 

Few years ago Melina decided to spend half of her time in Italy and to rent the house to keep it alive. When you rent Nyumba ya Madau, you will be treated like a member of the family. The trusted and gentle members of the staff, Gabriel, Mwalimu and Cornelius, have been there for more than a decade and will make you feel at home.
